Do the employees at the packing station need in-depth SAP® knowledge?
No. That's one of the main advantages. The solution uses a guided dialogue that hides the complex SAP transactions in the background. The employee simply scans the goods, DMC code, or production order; the system guides them through the process step by step. Error messages are displayed in plain text, so there's no need to interpret cryptic SAP system messages.
How does the system handle "mixed HUs" (mixed pallets)?
The EOL packing station also supports the assembly of mixed handling units. The employee can scan different materials one after the other, which the system then virtually combines into a pallet. Only upon completion is the complete, hierarchical handling unit structure correctly created and posted in SAP.
Does the packing station also support serial numbers and batch management?
Yes, fully. The "one-scan workflow" is designed to validate even complex data structures, such as batch information or serial numbers, directly during data capture. The system checks in real time against the production order to ensure the scanned unit is correct before the handling unit (HU) is created in SAP.
Is the solution multi-client capable or usable for multiple locations?
Absolutely. The 24-LOG logistics layer can be deployed centrally and individually configured for different plants or warehouse locations. Despite the central IT structure, location-specific requirements (e.g., different printer languages or specific storage location logics) can be easily accommodated.
Can partial deliveries or over-deliveries also be processed at the packing station?
Yes. The system is configured to immediately detect deviations from the production order. For partial deliveries, the packing station automatically suggests the correct remaining quantity; overdeliveries can be either allowed, flagged with a warning, or blocked, depending on your SAP customizing rules. This ensures absolutely precise inventory control.
How does the EOL packing station support seamless traceability?
Through the automatic, real-time linking of production and shipping data. At the moment of scanning at the packing station, the system permanently links the physical unit (e.g., serial number or batch) to the generated handling unit (HU) in SAP. Because the process runs without manual intermediate steps or buffer lists, there are no data gaps. Every printed label is therefore directly linked in the system to the specific production order, the time of packaging, and the responsible employee.
